Food Art 1105

The recipe that i will cook is one my favorite. It is actually one of the famous dishes in Morocco that is cooked regularly. it is called tajine " طجين". This recipe gets its name from the pan used for the cooking. The tajine is not only delicious, it is also healthy.

Ingredients
1 pound of chicken legs
2 tomatoes
1/2 pound of potatoes
2 onions
1 pack of frozen peas and carrots
Garlic, Cilantro

Instructions

First, we put the tajine over the fire. Next, we put one half cup of olive oil. We cut the onions into small pieces and put them in the tajine for almost 10 min. Then, we cut one tomatoe into small pieces and put it with the onions. After we take the skin out of the chicken legs, we put them in the tajine with the onions. Next , we put one spoon of salt, one spoon of black paper, one spoon of cumin, not too much of garlic, one spoon of regular chili powder, and a little bit of cilantro. In fact, we should cut the cilantro and garlic into small pieces too. After we add all these, we shake everything well and close the tajine for 15 min. Next, we cut the potatoes like shown in the pictures below, and we cut the other tomato into slices. We add potatoes, carrots, peas, and the slices of tomato to the tajine. Finally, we close the tajine and let everything to be cooked for one hour. By the way the tajine should be eaten with bread.

Easy-to-make Banana Cream Pie

Ever since I was a child, my grandmother always made the best pies. It didn’t matter what type of pie you wanted; she would make it. One of my favorite pies that she made was Banana Cream. This is a simpler version of the more complex recipe of Banana Cream Pie. You can find all of the ingredients at your local supermarket.

Ingredients

1 Egg

Milk

Whip cream

Bananas

Premade piecrust

2 boxes Jell-O Banana Pie filling mix

Directions

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. 2. Crack one egg into a bowl then scramble it. 3. Use a brush to coat the piecrust with the egg mixture. 4. Place the piecrust into the oven for 10-13 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. 5. For one pie, pour two boxes of Jell-O instant Pie filling and four cups of milk into a bowl, mix for two minutes or until the filling is creamy. 6. Take your piecrust out the oven and let it cool. 7. Pour one layer of your banana pie filling into the piecrust; then cut 2-3 bananas into thin slices. 8. Place the banana slices on top of the first layer of the filing in a circular fashion. Repeat the process a second time then finish with the last layer of filling on top. 9. Add whip cream on top of the pie if desired. The last step requires a fork – eat up!!!!!!!! Or just pie someone in the face.

I chose to make rice balls because it is easy and quick to prepare. Regular rice balls are just plain and boring, but I designed the rice balls into the shape of chicks to make them look more appealing, especially for kids. This food also consists of all healthy, non-fat ingredients, so it would make a perfect lunch box for kids.

<Ingredients>
rice
soy sauce
lettuce
tomatoes
sesame oil
3 eggs
cheese
seaweed
broccoli

1. Boil 2 eggs for 18 minutes. Peel off the shell.

2. Cut the eggs in half and carve out the yolk.

3. Cut it into these shapes to make them look like "cracked eggs" for embellishment purpose.

4. Take another brand new egg and separate out the yolk.

5. Mix the yolk with rice and add 1.5 tablespoon of soy sauce and one tablespoon of sesame oil. Once the rice is prepared, shape them into two tiny rice balls.

The Best Pizza Ever!!!

Eddie’s Delicious Home Made Pizza Recipe
For my Culinary Design Project, I decided to go along with making pizza. Not just any
pizza however, but home made pizza with whole wheat pitas, shredded whole milk cheese, and
any kind of tomato sauce. This can then be baked in your oven to your perfection. This particular
kind of home made pizza is significant to me because its the way my mom always makes pizza
and I grew up with it. I have ate it with friends and family throughout my life very often, and still
enjoy it this everyday home made appetizer at least once a week in my current life. It is very
easy to make since it uses common fridge items that you might already have, is very cost
effective, and tastes great at the end.
Ingredients
1) Whole Wheat Pita (6 per packet) -Preferred
2) Francesco Rinaldi Sweet and Tasty Tomato Sauce (24oz.) -Preferred

Instructions
Step 1) Gather materials. Pita Bread which can be bought at many places these days, same as
with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. You might also have these materials in your
fridge, since they are very common use food products.
Step 2) Grind up the mozzarella cheese in a big bowl so that you have the most difficult and time
             consuming part done with.
Step 3) After this open the Pita Bread. Lay a couple of pitas out on a thin metal sheet or plate
which is commonly found in many house hold ovens.
Step 4) Open the tomato sauce and spread it over all the pitas with a spoon.
Step 5) Spread the previously shredded mozzarella cheese over the tomato sauce covered
             pittas.
