Mash Potato Delight

Mash Potato Delight is a delicious dish I invented one lazy afternoon. I had just gotten home from school and I had a ton of homework to do. I was so hungry but didn’t want to make something that would take hours to cook. I started looking inside the refrigerator and thought “hey! Potatoes! They’re quick and easy to make; plus with salami and vegetables, how delicious would that taste.” This dish has become a common meal to cook whenever I’m in a hurry or just want something quick to eat.

Ingredients:
1 to 2 Potatoes cut into four quarters
1 Roma Tomato cut in four slices
4 Cucumbers cut in four slices
10 baby carrots cut in half
4 Broccoli florets
5 Salami cut in four slices
1 Teaspoon of salt
1 to 2 spoonful of butter
2 to 3 spoonful of milk

Instructions:
1. Boil a pot of water, heat on high, add the 1 Teaspoon of salt and then add the chopped potatoes, until soften.
2. On a different burner boil another pot of water on high and add the baby carrots and broccoli florets.
3. In a small pot cook the sliced Salami and Tomatoes on medium heat.
4. When potatoes are soften, drain the water out and add the milk and butter into the pot. Then with a potato masher, mash the potato as you please; then place onto eating plate.
5. Drain the vegetables and place onto the side of eating plate.
6. Do the same with the salami and tomatoes.
7. Finish decorating your plate with the sliced cucumbers and now your ready to enjoy Mash Potato Delight!

Food Art 1105

The recipe that i will cook is one my favorite. It is actually one of the famous dishes in Morocco that is cooked regularly. it is called tajine " طجين". This recipe gets its name from the pan used for the cooking. The tajine is not only delicious, it is also healthy.

Ingredients
1 pound of chicken legs
2 tomatoes
1/2 pound of potatoes
2 onions
1 pack of frozen peas and carrots
Garlic, Cilantro

Instructions

First, we put the tajine over the fire. Next, we put one half cup of olive oil. We cut the onions into small pieces and put them in the tajine for almost 10 min. Then, we cut one tomatoe into small pieces and put it with the onions. After we take the skin out of the chicken legs, we put them in the tajine with the onions. Next , we put one spoon of salt, one spoon of black paper, one spoon of cumin, not too much of garlic, one spoon of regular chili powder, and a little bit of cilantro. In fact, we should cut the cilantro and garlic into small pieces too. After we add all these, we shake everything well and close the tajine for 15 min. Next, we cut the potatoes like shown in the pictures below, and we cut the other tomato into slices. We add potatoes, carrots, peas, and the slices of tomato to the tajine. Finally, we close the tajine and let everything to be cooked for one hour. By the way the tajine should be eaten with bread.

Ever since I was a child, my grandmother always made the best pies. It didn’t matter what type of pie you wanted; she would make it. One of my favorite pies that she made was Banana Cream. This is a simpler version of the more complex recipe of Banana Cream Pie. You can find all of the ingredients at your local supermarket.

Ingredients

1 Egg

Milk

Whip cream

Bananas

Premade piecrust

2 boxes Jell-O Banana Pie filling mix

Directions

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. 2. Crack one egg into a bowl then scramble it. 3. Use a brush to coat the piecrust with the egg mixture. 4. Place the piecrust into the oven for 10-13 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. 5. For one pie, pour two boxes of Jell-O instant Pie filling and four cups of milk into a bowl, mix for two minutes or until the filling is creamy. 6. Take your piecrust out the oven and let it cool. 7. Pour one layer of your banana pie filling into the piecrust; then cut 2-3 bananas into thin slices. 8. Place the banana slices on top of the first layer of the filing in a circular fashion. Repeat the process a second time then finish with the last layer of filling on top. 9. Add whip cream on top of the pie if desired. The last step requires a fork – eat up!!!!!!!! Or just pie someone in the face.
